The Albanese Government is proud to lead the world in efforts to keep children safe online, and today the Prime Minister welcomed the opportunity to meet the Executive Chairman of Apple's Board, Mr Tim Cook at Apple Park in Cupertino, United States.
As an industry leader, Apple has worked to support Australia's online safety laws and taken additional steps to help protect kids online.
Prime Minister Albanese witnessed a demonstration of Apple's new tools which allow parents to more easily manage the content their children can see, who they can communicate with, and when they have access to apps.
Prime Minister Albanese and Mr Cook discussed Australia's work to introduce new laws to create a safer online environment, by setting legally enforceable minimum safety standards.
Australians will also benefit from better protection from seriously harmful and illegal content across digital services, and social media users will be afforded more choice.
The Australian Government is dedicated to improving online safety and providing Australians more choice, and will work with stakeholders, including tech companies, to make this a reality.
Prime Minister Albanese will continue important discussions on online safety with international leaders in New York at the United Nations General AssemblyHigh-Level Week.
