BRISBANE, Queensland, Jan. 13 -- Queensland Police Service issued the following media release:
Update: Police from Mackay have now lifted the earlier declaration made under the PSPA. All roads surrounding the incident scene are now open.
Earlier: Police from Mackay are assisting officers from Queensland Fire Department in relation to a fire in an industrial estate in the Port of Mackay, today January 13.
At about 6:15pm police have attended and have set up traffic diversions prior to declaring an exclusion zone under the provisions of the Public Safety Preservation Act.
It is unknown the cause of the fire at this point.
Police are urging members of the public to avoid the area.
