* The Crisafulli Governmentis delivering on a key election commitmentfor the Sunshine Coastwith a major road upgrade. * Design is now underway for safety upgrades, including traffic signals at bothDiddillibahRoad and Blackall Street,to provide safer turning movements, improve intersection capacity and improve network efficiency. * The Crisafulli Governmentis getting Queenslanders soonerand saferafter a decade of decline under Labor.

TheCrisafulli Government is delivering on a key Sunshine Coast election commitment, with design now underway for major safety upgrades at the Nambour Connection Road intersections withDiddillibahRoad and Blackall Street.

The proposed upgrades would see new traffic signals installed at both intersections to provide safer turning movements, improve intersection capacity and increase the efficiency of the local road network.

Criticalupgrades likeNambour Connection Road have been put off for too long under the former Labor Government,whichallowed cost-blowouts and delays to continue instead of getting on with the job.

The Crisafulli Government is gettingQueenslandershome soonerandsafer, with therelease of the planning layout markingan important milestone in progressing the project.

Thecommunityisnow invited to help shape the final design before detailed planning continues.

Minister for Transport and Main Roads Brent Mickelberg said the planning layout markedan important stepin progressing theCrisafulliGovernment's election commitment.

"The Crisafulli Government made a commitment to improve safety and efficiency at these intersections, and we're getting on with the job of delivering it," Minister Mickelberg said.

"These intersections are used by thousands of motorists every week and we've heard the community's concerns about safety, delays and access.

"The proposed installation of traffic signals atDiddillibahRoad and Blackall Streetwillhelp improve safety, reduce congestion,and support a more efficient local road network as the Sunshine Coast continues to grow.

"This planning layout gives the community an opportunity to help shape the final design and ensure we're delivering the best outcome for local road users."

Memberfor Ninderry Dan Purdiewelcomed the progress on a project the community had long been calling for.

"These long-awaited safety upgrades will make a real difference for residents, businesses and visitors travelling through the area every day," Mr Purdie said.

"The improvements will help reduce congestion and ensure our growing communities get home safely."

Member for Nicklin Marty Huntsaid it was exciting to seedesign underway.

"I've spoken with many locals who know these intersections well and understand the challenges that come with increasing traffic volumes and difficult turning movements,"Mr Hunt said.

"That's why it's so exciting to see design work now underway and the project moving closer to delivery."
