The Crisafulli Governmentisdelivering for theearly childhoodworkforceby providing free trainingthrough thenewQueensland Educational Leadership Program(QELP)for educational leaders in Free Kindy services.
In partnership with Queensland University of Technology (QUT), QELP will deliver twofree online micro credential coursesto build leadership skills and capability.
AnAdvanced Courseforeducationalleaders with more than three years of experience isnowopen for enrolmentsand aFoundations Course, for leaderswith up to three years of experiencewill launch next year.
After a decade of decline under Labor, the Crisafulli Government is deliveringbetter services through a stronger economy anda plan to boost the early childhood workforce, upskill educators and provide safe and supportive environments for the next generation of Queenslanders.
Minister for Education John-Paul Langbroeksaid the $2.75 million investment over five yearswas agamechanger.
"The Queensland Educational Leadership Programis about empowering our hardworkingeducationalleaders togain new credentials, lead with confidence, and make a lasting impact on children's learning and development," Minister Langbroek said.
"Early childhood educators and leaders play a vital role in shaping the future of Queensland's children and keeping them safe.
"QELPreflectsour commitment to growing a high-quality,safeand strong early childhood sector in Queenslandand I encourage staff to apply.
"Today is Early Childhood Educator's Day and my message to staff across Queensland is thank you for your leadership,dedicationand professionalism.
"The Crisafulli Government is proud to deliver Free Kindy, while also expanding access to early education servicesacross the state."
QUT is working with the Early Learning and Care Council of Australia (ELACCA) to deliver QELP to educational leaders in Queensland.
Dean and Head of QUT School of EducationProfessor Terri Bourke said QELP would expand access to high-quality professional learning across Queensland.
"This program reflects the strength of partnership between QUT, the Queensland Government and ELACCA, and a shared focus on supporting the early childhood workforce," Professor Bourke said.
ELACCA Chief ExecutiveOfficerDr Amanda WalshsaidQueensland has a genuine commitment to nurturing and supporting its early years workforce.
"The more we do to support leaders in our sector, and to encourage the next generation of leaders, the better and safer we make early learning for children," Dr Walsh said.
