Belconnen, ACT, July 26 -- ACT Policing issued the following media release:

A 26-year-oldman is due to face court today (Saturday 26 July) charged with sexual assault.

On Tuesday 22 July a woman reported to police that she had been sexually assaulted by her flat mate on Friday 18 July 2025.

Following an investigation, police conducted a search warrant at the man's residence yesterday (Friday 25 July) and arrested the man.

He has been charged with sexual intercourse without consent, common assault, act of indecency without consent and chokes, suffocates, strangles another person.

Police are urging any victims of sexual assault, including anyone who is aware of intimate images being shared without the subject's consent, to report these criminal activities.

If you or someone you know has been affected by sexual violence, you can report to police by attending a police station or calling 131444.

You can also submit an online report for historical sexual assault for incidents that occurred more than six months ago.
