Belconnen, ACT, Dec. 24 -- ACT Policing issued the following media release:
A 22-year-old Belconnen man has been charged with multiple offences after heallegedlyboundand assaulted a manin a Reid unit.
ACTPolicing was called to aunit complex on Ainslie Avenue in Reid at about 9.05am yesterday (Tuesday, 23 December 2025)after nearby workers heard a man callingforhelp.
Officers were directed to the unit where the calls were coming from,and the door was answered by a man and a woman, with calls forassistanceheard from a second man.
The man and woman allegedly fled the scene by jumping of a first-floor balcony. The man, a 22-year-old from Belconnen,was arrested a short distance away.The woman was unable to belocated.
After enteringthe unit, officerslocateda man with his hands tied, his mouth gagged andhe was covered in a blanket. The man had also suffered a stab wound to his chest.He wassubsequentlytransported to hospital by ACT AmbulanceServiceparamedics in a stable condition.
The Belconnen man was charged with joint commission intentionally inflict grievous bodily harm, joint commission intentionally wound and joint commission forcible confinement. He is expected to appear in the ACT Magistrates court today (Wednesday, 24 December2025).
The woman, who is described as Caucasian, about 5'9" tall, with dark hair in a ponytail who was wearingblackleggings and ablacksports bra at the time of the incident,remainsat large.
