Belconnen, ACT, Sept. 16 -- ACT Policing issued the following media release:
A 49-year-old Symonston man has been charged with grievous bodily harm after allegedly seriously assaulting a man yesterday afternoon.
About 5:30pm yesterday (Monday, 15 September 2025), police received a call from the 49-year-old man stating that another man was lying unconscious at his front door after the pair allegedly got into an altercation.
Police arrived at the residence at the Southside Village Caravan Park in Symonston shortly after and commenced CPR on the man before ACT Ambulance Service arrived and took over his resuscitation.
After some time, ACTAS were able to stabilise him and he was transported to The Canberra Hospital in a critical condition.
Police arrested the 49-year-old man at the scene and he was transported to the ACT Watch House.
Following police investigations, the 49-year-old man was subsequently charged with recklessly inflict grievous bodily harm.
He is due to face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Tuesday, 16 September 2025).
