Belconnen, ACT, Sept. 13 -- ACT Policing issued the following media release:

A 31-year-old man from Gunghalin has been arrested following an incident in Gungahlin yesterday.

At around 8pm Friday 12 September, police were patrolling in Gungahlin when there were approached by members of the public who informed them a man had set off the fire alarm inside the Gungahlin Market Place.

Police located the man, as they were trying to engage with him he has allegedly tried to flee from police before being apprehended.

The man allegedly heavily resisted police, with two officers being bitten during the arrest.

He will face the ACT Magistrates Court today charged with assaulting a frontline community service provider and obstruct/resist a territory public official.
