RANCHI, India, Dec. 1 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on Oct. 31:
1. By order dated 25.4.2025 passed in ABA No. 2519 of 2025, anticipatory bail of the petitioner was allowed directing the petitioner to surrender before the court below within four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of said order.
2. The petitioner did not surrender within the stipulated time, thus he had filed Cr. Misc. Petition No. 1963 of 2025. In the said Cr.M.P., time was granted till 18.8.2025 to the petitioner to surrender before the court concerned. Even thereafter the petitioner did not appear before the Court concerned. Now the petitioner has filed this Cr. Misc. Petition for further extension of time.
3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the order was physically communicated to the Trial Court on 18.8.2025, but the petitioner had to appear on or before 18.8.2025, thus, this petitioner could not surrender before the Court concerned. The petitioner has prayed for extension of time to surrender before the Court concerned.
4. Though the explanation of the petitioner is not accepted as the order of extension of time was passed in open Court and was uploaded immediately.
5. Since anticipatory bail has been granted to the petitioner, I direct him to surrender before the Court below within three weeks from today. The petitioner will not wait for communication of this order, rather will down-load the uploaded copy of this order. This is subject to payment of a cost of Rs.20,000/- (twenty thousand), to be deposited with the Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority (JHALSA). The copy of the receipt will be annexed along with the surrender petition. This order is passed in open Court in presence of the counsel for the petitioner.
