CANBERRA, ACT, Sept. 22 -- Australian Federal Police issued the following media release:
An Iran-born man is set to appear before Melbourne Magistrates' Court today (22 September, 2025) charged with allegedly failing to comply with his visa-mandated curfew conditions.
The AFP charged the man, 42, today (22 September, 2025), after he was located in Melbourne.
It will be alleged he breached one of the conditions of his Commonwealth visa yesterday (21 September, 2025) by failing to observe his residential curfew obligations.
The man has been charged with one count of failing to comply with a visa curfew condition, contrary to section 76C(1) of the Migration Act 1958 (Cth).
This offence carries a maximum penalty of five years' imprisonment and/or a $99,000 fine.
