BRISBANE, Queensland, Jan. 5 -- Queensland Police Service issued the following media release:
Police are investigating following a fatal house fire at Sarina this afternoon, January 5.
Emergency services were initially called to the Kathleen Street property around 4:25pm following the building being located fully alight.
The fire has since been contained, and an initial search of the house located a 71-year-old Sarina woman deceased inside.
A crime scene has been declared, and investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
