TheCrisafulliGovernment is delivering record investment and a fresh start for regional Queenslandafter holding asuccessfulmeeting of Community Cabinet in Goondiwindi.
Around 150people attended PCYC Goondiwindi onSundayto discuss plans and prioritieswith the Premier and his Ministers, including crime and youth justice, regional jobs, manufacturing opportunities, small business, opportunities for women in rural communities, and the 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The Crisafulli Government outlined howit'smaking Queensland safer, restoring health services when you need them, deliveringmore jobs andbetter services through a stronger economy,and building Queensland's future.
TheCrisafulliGovernment ishealing Labor's Health Crisis, through local investment, including $2 milliontowardsa new Goondiwindi Neighbour Centre to expand disability and health services, and support for at-risk children and their families.
Increased support for health workers includes a $6.9 million investment in the Goondiwindi Staff Accommodation Upgrade, while patients and families across the region who need to travel for healthcare can access the Patient Travel Subsidy Schemewhich received an $11.7 million peryearboostinthe 2026-27 State Budget.
The Crisafulli Government is continuing to unlock housing supplyinGoondiwindi, with $2.9 millionto deliver road and intersection upgrades, stormwater drainage,waterand sewer mains, and electrical and telecommunications infrastructure to unlock more than 100 new homes, as part of Round 2 of the Residential Activation Fund.
TheCrisafulliGovernment isrestoring safety where you live inGoondiwindithrough the Secure Communities Partnership Program, awarding more than $84,800 to ninelocalbusinessestoenhance security infrastructure.
TheBreach Bail, Go to Jail and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2026was introduced to Parliament last Thursday andis the next stage ofAdult Crime, Adult Time, targeting youth and adult offenders who commit serious offences while on bail.
TheCrisafulliGovernment is alsodeliveringflood resilience along the Macintyre River under Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements, aswell as an investment through the2024-27Works for Queensland Programtoupgradewild dog fencing,renewedwater and sewerage services, and improvements tothe Town Common Road.
Premier David Crisafulli said the Government was delivering a plan forthe region's future.
"We've been listening to the Goondiwindi communityandwe'reacting on whatwe'veheard,not only today but since we took office,to ensure we deliver what matters to them," PremierCrisafulli said.
"Thebest way to hear about the priorities and how we can shape the future together is to hit the roadand meet peopleandthis is why Community Cabinets are so important.
"We are laser-focussed on delivering for this community - including safety where you live, health services when you need them and better services through a stronger economy."
