* Community consultation is now open on station precinct designs forThe Wave- Stage 1 between Beerwah and Caloundra. * The consultation marks another major milestone in delivering the transformational public transport project for the Sunshine Coast. * Feedback will help shape the final station designs ahead of major construction expected to commence early next year. * TheCrisafulli Government is building Queensland's future, with the key project part of the investment in the Sunshine Coast's infrastructure,delivering the transport solutions needed for the growing region for generations to come.

The Sunshine Coast community is being invited to help shapethe region's future, with consultation now open on the design of station precincts that will form part ofThe Wave- Stage 1 between Beerwah and Caloundra.

The consultation marks another significant milestone for the project, which will deliver 19 kilometres of new dual-track rail line, an upgraded Beerwah station and new stations at Bells Creek and Caloundra.

The Crisafulli Government is building Queensland's future and delivering for 2032 and beyond, with the landmark public transport project set torevolutionise travel across the Sunshine Coast.

For too long, the Sunshine Coast's rapid growth outpaced investment in the transport infrastructure needed to support itduring Labor's decade of decline.

The Crisafulli Government is changing that by progressing the projects that will reduce congestion, improveconnectivityand better link communities with jobs,educationand services.

Locals can have their say on key station design elements including landscaping, public spaces, accessibility features, wayfinding, street furniture, public artopportunitiesand the overall look and feel of the precincts.

Community feedback received during the consultation period will directly inform the project's detailed design, helping ensure the stations reflect the character of the Sunshine Coast while meeting the needs of future generations.

The consultation follows the recent appointment of design and pre-construction partners for Stage1, with theCrisafulli Governmentgetting onwith delivering one of the largest transport infrastructure projects in theState's history.

Minister for Transport and Main Roads Brent Mickelberg saidthe consultation was anotherimportant steptowards delivering a world-class transport network for the Sunshine Coast.

"The Wave will transform the way people move around the Sunshine Coastbysupportingmore jobs, better connectivity and stronger communities right across the region," Minister Mickelberg said.

"This is an exciting opportunity for locals to help shape the stations that will serve their community for decades to come.

"The Crisafulli Government is delivering theinfrastructurethat's needed,withthe most significant transport investment the Sunshine Coast has ever seen."

Member for Caloundra KendallHatchersaid the project would deliver lasting benefits for local families and future generations.

"This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to help shape the future of transport on the Sunshine Coast," MsHatchersaid.

"The arrival of modern rail stations at Caloundra and Bells Creek will better connect our communities, support local businesses and make it easier for people to access work, education and services.

"We're seeing real progress onTheWaveand I encourage everyone to take part in the consultation and help shape what these important communityhubswill look like."

Member for Glass House Andrew Powell saidthe stations would playanimportant rolefor the region.

"Beerwah Station is already at the heart of our community, and I welcome the proposed upgrades which will make it even better for the thousands of locals who rely on it every week,"Mr Powellsaid.

"By improving access, increasingparkingand creating a more modern station precinct, this project will help meet the needs of our growing region for years to come.

Community consultation will be open until 14 September 2026 and will include online surveys and a series of community pop-up sessions across the Sunshine Coast.
