* The Crisafulli Government is delivering on a key election commitment for Redland Bay with the next round of upgrades to expand Cleveland-Redland Bay Road.
* Upgrades will include expanding the road to four lanes between Anita Street and Double Jump Road and signalising the Double Jump Road intersection.
* TheCrisafulli Government is delivering better roads and more transport to get Queenslanders home sooner and safer, after a decade of decline under Labor.
The Crisafulli Government is delivering on a key Redland Bay election commitment, with upgrades announced to expand Cleveland-Redland Bay Road between Anita Street and Double Jump Road, helping get Queenslanders home sooner and safer.
The upgrade will duplicate the 450-metre stretch from two lanes to four lanes and will include noise barriers, improved active transport pathways, and the installation of traffic signals at the busy Double Jump Road intersection to improve capacity and safety.
Under the former State Labor Government, the construction of upgrades between Anita Street and Magnolia parade was a disaster with major congestion and long delays for locals.
To deliver cost and time certainty, minimise local impacts, and prioritise key improvements, the Crisafulli Government will focus immediate efforts on duplicating the Anita Street to Double Jump Road section, and upgrading the Double Jump Road intersectionto get locals homesoonerand saferafter a decade of decline under Labor.
Enabling works for the revised scope of works between Anita Street and Double Jump Road are expected to commence in late 2027, subject to Federal Government environmental approvals.
Progress will continue to finalise land acquisitions, relocate public utilities and obtain necessary Australian Government environmental approvals to ensure the improvements from Double Jump Road through to Giles Road can be delivered.
Minister for Transport and Main Roads Brent Mickelberg said applying the lessons from the delivery of previous works on Cleveland-Redland Bay Road was critical to the next phase of the project.
"The former State Labor Government's upgrades along Cleveland-Redland Bay Road were a disaster. While there will inevitably be some impacts during construction, we are not repeating Labor's mistakes," Minister Mickelberg said.
"The next Cleveland-Redland Bay Road upgrades will expand capacity and deliver the signalisation of Double Jump Road intersection - two things the Redlands community has been crying out for.
"These upgrades are all about getting locals home safer and sooner."
Member for Redlands Rebecca Young said she had listened to the community, and the Crisafulli Government was delivering based on that feedback.
"My community has told me they want to see upgrades at the Double Jump Road intersection, which is exactly what we are delivering," Mrs Young said.
"But importantly they told me they don't want a repeat of the disastrous upgrades between Anita Street and Magnolia Parade we lived through under the former State Labor Government.
"We have learned from the past and listened to the locals. These upgrades will improve the local road network while minimizing the impact on commuters, with less disruption, clearer communication, and addressing the cause of delays.
"The Crisafulli Government is working to get locals home safer and sooner - both during the works and when they're done."
