Police have charged a 51-year-old Beaudesert man with high range drink driving, after he was allegedly caught driving more than three times over the legal limit in Brisbane in late 2025.
Police were conducting roadside breath tests on Brisbane Street, Beaudesert on 29 December , when the driver was intercepted as part of the operation.
It will be alleged that, after completing a secondary breath analysis, the man produced a breath sample which returned 0.180 per cent breath alcohol reading.
Logan Highway Patrol officers charged the man with high range drink driving.
The man is expected to appear before the Beaudesert Magistrates Court on 10 February 2026.
Queensland Police Service launched the annual Christmas and New Year road safety blitz, Operation X-Ray Mistletoe on Saturday December 13.
Police across the state increased presence on the roads targeting unsafe road behaviours to ensure the safety of road users.
Officer in Charge of Road Policing Taskforce, Senior Sergeant Paul Kelly said dangerous behaviours like drink driving devastate families, and put not only the community but emergency service personnel at risk.
'The enforcement outcomes from recent operations highlight the ongoing danger posed by extreme behaviours on Queensland roads,' Senior Sergeant Kelly said.
"I remind Queenslanders that drink driving has a direct consequence on your life and those around you.
"Police will continue enforcement efforts to reduce road trauma, and keep Queenslanders who are doing the right thing, safe."
